Background
Welcome to the 1st/3rd Renfrew Boys’ Brigade!
The 1st/3rd Renfrew Boys’ Brigade is a vibrant youth organization based within Renfrew North Parish Church. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment for boys to learn new skills, build friendships, grow in confidence, and develop their faith.
History
The 1st/3rd Renfrew Boys’ Brigade was formed through the merger of the 1st Renfrew Company and the 3rd Renfrew Company. This merger was a strategic decision to ensure the continuity and strength of the Boys’ Brigade in Renfrew after the closure of the Renfrew Old Parish Church Halls.
Our Activities
We offer a range of activities designed to cater to different age groups:
Anchors (P1 to P3): Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Juniors (P4 to P6): Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Company/Seniors (P7 to S6): Thursdays from 7:30 PM to 9:45 PM
Our programs include badge work, games, crafts, youth parades, outings, and more. We aim to foster a sense of community and personal development in all our members. We encourage boys to remain with us and achieve the Kings Badge, the highest award achievable in the organisation.
Camps are a key part of our activities. Our annual camps provide an opportunity for boys to bond, learn new skills, and enjoy the great outdoors. These camps range from indoor weekends to full week camps in tents and include activities such as, team-building exercises, outward bound activities, sports, and campfires. They are a highlight of our calendar and offer unforgettable experiences for all participants.
Faith is a cornerstone of our organisation. We encourage our members to explore and grow in their faith through various activities, including Bible studies, discussions about moral and ethical values, prayer and our “Chaplain’s Challenge”. Our goal is to help boys develop a strong spiritual foundation that will guide them throughout their lives.
